Takelma 〔Laurie Bauer, 2007, ''The Linguistics Student’s Handbook'', Edinburgh〕 was the language spoken by the Latgawa and Takelma people. It was first extensively described by Edward Sapir in his graduate thesis, ''The Takelma Language of Southwestern Oregon''.
